Are you kidding? This is really big. What a pleasure to anticipate!!!
Sadly, Anand is so afraid of Carlsen as Kramnik points out that the match will probably be like Vishy’s match with Kasparov or an even greater blowout, especially if Kasparov helps Carlsen, then maybe only 6 games will be needed, accelerated Dragon is the Anand crusher. The only hope is to get the venue wired for computer assistance like the Topalov-Kramnik match in the toilets.
It’s especially interesting since Anand has a lifetime landslide + score vs Carlsen…and Carlsen being clear #1 human in the world
Worst possible match, let alone a ‘world championship’. One is an over-hyped player, the other fast on the decline looking to cash in before his days are over.
Both are in it for the money. It’s a spectacle that is distracting to great chess players and to great chess games that occur all the time. Both players sought to obtain even more money during the bidding process.
This is not about chess, but about people (the two players and everyone seeking to piggyback on them) who are purely after money.
