Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Go Smeets!
Yifan’s Coach is rated 2503. I know that’s not the “be-all and end-all,” but it is telling that the other coaches in this event have higher ratings. It’s clear that her coach is holding her back. This is a crucial time in her development, and her team seriously needs to consider a new coach if she is to reach her potential.
Susan: Have you invited Yifan to attend TTU? She might just be interested – she could still play for the Chinese national team. Many top Chinese players in other sports (table-tennis, volleyball, soccer, etc.) are allowed to live and train overseas.
I invited her to the SPICE Cup A. She wanted to come but unfortunately, she has a schedule conflict. Maybe next year. She is also too young right now for Texas Tech.
Best wishes,
Susan
A super GM who is too young!
What a wonderful time to be alive!
Super Young Chess Masters!
She’s far from being super GM… yet.
