Governor describes Gibraltar Chess Festival as “remarkable achievement”

The Governor described the Gibraltar Chess Festival as a “remarkable achievement” during his visit to the event today.
He went on to say the festival is the strongest open chess championship in the world, bringing quality up and attracting an increasingly wide and diverse group of chess players to the Rock. Sixty nations are represented with over two hundred and fifty players taking part.
Lieutenant General Edward Davis met with Tournament Organiser Brian Callaghan and Tournament Director Stuart Conquest as well as Chairman of Tradewise James Humphreys, Festival Administrator Paddy Grech and the Caleta Hotel General Manager Franco Ostuni.
