After drawing the first two games, Aronian scored the first victory in game 3 to take the lead. All he needed was a draw in the final game to win the 2010 Leon Rapid. But Gelfand registered a clutch win in game 4 to send the match to the playoff. Then he won both blitz game to win the event.
