Wow powerful message. This is great. Nice going Susan.
No one even comes close to doing for chess what you do. Congratulations on being so wonderful. Anytime you are looking for a 2nd daddy to adopt, just ask me. I wish you were my daughter. I am so proud of you and never met you.
One of these days I am going to come to one of your functions just to shake your hand and say thank you for helping chess so much.
Artie Limmer, photograher for Texas Tech did an excellent job here. Tech will be running monthly ads in Texas Monthly featuring students and their activities. I have been told that this ad “sets the standard”!
Where does Texas Tech feature in the league of Universities, ranked using more normal criteria? Well, as a Texas grad, I can tell you Tech is a very good local university, and it’s well-respected in the Southwest. The education program is particularly strong. It’s not Princeton, but if you’re looking for Princeton, you’re in the wrong timezone.
Tech is “Harvard of the High Plains”. Seriously, the university is making great strives in higher education. It is a top-tier university in terms of research and one of the few public university to have all the regular colleges and a law and medical school to boot. Tech is now making inrows in college chess also. As their chess club members (Knight Raiders – no relation to Bobby btw) say “Check ’em Tech” (which is a play on their sports motto “Wreck ’em Tech”).
Very nice ad! Very effective!
Are there any SP articles explaining why chess creates useful life skills? Or are they all in books and DVDs?

Hey is that an engagement ring on your finger Susan?
That was a ring that was given to me by my friend Jacqui when we were in Alaska. It was made there.
Best wishes,
Susan Polgar
