Could someone enlighten me with a full analysis of this position if black responds with either 1.. Rf8?”
Thanks

Hi! 2.Qg4 has the threat of 3.Rh8+ Kxh8 4.Qh4+ followed by 5.Qh7 mate. The rook on f8 defends the pawn, but takes away the only escape square for the Black King. This is why Reti resigned. White’s pieces are converging on he Kingside, while Black’s Knight and Bishop are shooting at empty space.
1.Ng5 Qxg5?? 2.Rh8+
this one is a classic. after ng5, Reti resigned 🙂
Its unbelievable how weak the
old masters were playing (Yates).
1.Ng5!
“Its unbelievable how weak the

One the silliest comments i have ever read!
Could someone enlighten me with a full analysis of this position if black responds with either 1.. Rf8?
