This is a forced win for white beginning with the Rook check at h7. Black has only two replies; move the king to g6 or take the rook at h7. White’s reply to either move is the same: Qxf7. If the King is on g6 this is mate. If the King is on h7 then there are only three moves to answer the queen check on f7. The King can move to h6 or h8 or the bishop can interpose at g7. White’s next move is the same to all three moves! The rook Mates on h3. Here is how it plays out:
1. Rh7 Kxh7 (Kg6 2.Qxf7#) 2. Qxf7+ Bg7 or Kh8 or Kh6 3. Rh3#
Rh7+ followed by Qxf7+ and Rh3 does the trick.
Rh7+, Qf7+ (or #), and Rh3#
this is easy:
1. Rh7+ Kxh7
2. Qxf7+ Bg7/Kh6/8
3. Rh3#
if 1. … Kg6, then
2. Qxf7#
greets, jan
1. Qe4 wins
Th7+
1.Rh7 wins
RH7 too easy susan.
1.Rh7+ Kh7 (1…Kg6 Qxf7++)
2.Qxf7+ K-any
3.Rh3 mate
1.Rh7+ Kxh7 2.Qxf7+ Bg7 3.Rh3#.
1. Rh7+ Kxh7
2. Qf7+
and Rh3 is mate no matter what black plays
I think I’ve seen this theme before!
1. Rh7+ KxR (… Kg6 Qxf7#)
2. Qxf7+ Kh8 or Kh6 or Bg7
3. Rh3#
Mark
This seems too easy, which means I am probably missing something!
1. Rh7 Kh7 (if Kg6 Qf7#)
2. Qf7 any
3. Rh3#
1.Rh7+! Kxh7 2.Qxf7+ Bg7 3.Rh3 mate!
Kamalakanta
Rh7+…mate.
Too hard.
1. Rh7 wins
1.Rh7+ Kh7
2.Qf7+ Bg7
3.Rh3 mate
1. Rh7 wins
Rh7+ leads to mate
1. Rh7 wins
1. Rh7+ Kxh7
2. Qxf7+ Bg7
3. Rh3#
Or
1. Rh7+ Kg6
2. Qxf7#
1. Rh7+ Kxh7
2. Qxf7 Kh6
3. Rh3++
1.Rh7+ wins
This is pretty easy. White needs to be able to check from f7 with the queen, and the f3-rook mates. This suggests sacrificing the h1-rook at h7:
1. Rh7 Kh7 (Kg6 2.Qe4# or Qf7#)
2. Qf7 Kh6/h8 or Bg7
3. Rh3#
Rh7+ Kxh7 forced, otherwise Qf7 mate
then
Qxf7+ either Bg7 or Kh8 or Kh7
Rh3 mates
White mates with 1.Rh7+ Kxh7, 2.Qxf7+ followed by 3. Rh3. 1…Kg6 won’t work due to 2.Qe4. Phil
Rh7 wins Kxh7
Qxf7 Bg7
Rh3 mate
1. Rh7+ Kxh7 (if Kg6, Qxf7++)
2. Qf7+ any (Kh6,Kh8,Bg7)
3. Rh3++
Actually I found that the following wins.
1. Rh7+ Kxh7
2. Qxf7+
2. …..Bg7
…..Kh8
…..Kh6
3. Rh3#
1. Th7+ then quick mat.

2. Qxf7 Kh6
3 Rh3 mate
Easy Rh7+ 🙂
