it looks as if 1.Rxd8 Kxd8 may work because the black rook has problems stopping the h-pawn after 2.h6 re5 3.g4! for example and now if 3…Rg5 the fork 4.nxe6+!
1.Rxd8! Kxd8 2.h6 and Black can’t stop the pawn from queening.
