Well,I didn’t notice that the board for this chess puzzle is not aliened from viewers focus[ Where White piece is assumed to be from viewers side ] – so its the reason my earlier suggested moves in notation sounds irrelevant.
But I have a question here now – if the board is aliened from White then the last row should be at viewers side,in that case, the destination differs thereby strategy differs – won’t they ?
Rh1+, Kg2, Rg1+ and wins the knight.
I assume the question is how does Black proceed?
“Black to move. How should White proceed?”
Presumably that’s a typo. Whose turn is it really?
1… Rh1+
2. Kg2 Rg1+
3. Kf3 Rxg6
R-H1
K-G2 R-G1
K-H2,H3,or F3 R-G6
This is a gimme, right?
1… Rh1
2. Kg2 Rg1
3. Kf3 Rg6
4. Rd2 Rd6 and everything is tied down, with a piece up and pawns still on the board.
bxg7 awesome
Black can win the white knight:
1. … Ra8+
2. Kb7 Rb8+
3. Ka7/a6/c6 Rxb3
and Black should win.
Hi Susan Polgar,
Well, this puzzle doesn’t throw much of complexity,if its taken as per the direction of the puzzle – that is “Black piece turn to move”.
Then the set of following moves for Black piece will lead to its win.
If Black piece moves are – Ra8+,Rf8,Ke3 – from thereon its child’s play for Black piece to win the game.

something wrong with Rh1+, Kg2 Rg1+, Kf3 Rxb3, Re7 Re3?
1…. g2
(a)2 g8=Q Ra8+
3Kb7 RxQg8
4Rd2+ Kf3
5Rd3+ Kg4
6 Rd1 Rb8+
7K moves RxNb3 and wins
(b)2 Nxa1 Bxg7
followed by queening on next move.
