….Bg3+, Kf4 – Kd6 (to block the d5 pawn & control also e file…then the white Bishop also had too long to catch up with c pawn that’s probably Queening)
Well, here the solution looks quite simple: 1…Kf8 2.Bh7 forced Kg7 3.Bf5 (or the bishop and the endgame are lost) and the nice Bg3! mate What is especially aesthetic is the Black King apparently moving farther from the White one while closing more efficiently the king’s retreat!
1… Bg3? 2. Kf5 c4 3. d6+ 1/2 1… d6? 2. Kf4 – then king stops c pawn, bishop defends e4 pawn from f5 (1/2) 1… Bg5 2. d6+ (=)
1… Kf8! 2. Bh7 Kg7 3. Kd6 (3.d6 K:h7 4. Kd5 Bf2 5. e5 Kg7 6. e6 de 7. k:e6 c4 8. d7 Bh4 -+) K:h7 4. K:d7 (if K:c5 then black places bishop on g3, forcing Kd4 and e4-e5, then plays Bh4, Kg6 etc and wins) 4… c4 and black pawn queens ahead of a white one (-+)
x. … Bg3
I think
1 …. Kf8 2. Bh7 Bg3+ 3. Kf6 (not Kf5 cause it will block the bishop path after the pawn sacrifice on e5) c4
and I think black’s c pawn is unstoppable unless white is willing to sac his e pawn to prevent black from queening.
kf8 bh7 kg7 bf5 Bg3#
… d6
d6 … this keeps white bishop pinned in
1…Bg3+! 2.Kf5 Kf8! and White’s silly pieces can’t stop the c-pawn.
….Bg3+, Kf4 – Kd6 (to block the d5 pawn & control also e file…then the white Bishop also had too long to catch up with c pawn that’s probably Queening)
Hope i got it right Miss SGM Susan.

and the black Bishop mates
I think that black can take the white bishop and win the endgame with 1… Kf8.
The lost of one black pawn, does not change the evaluation of the final.
Black is winning.
1…Bg3 only force the dead draw.

Ha! I hadn’t seen the bishop mate. That line is very elegant, although as far as I can see 1…Bg3+ 2.Kf5 Kf8 also works.
