GM Ehsan Ghaem Maghami dominates another tournament
10th Avicenna International Open on 24-31st July in Hamadan, Iran
The 10th Avicenna International Open Tournament, organized by the Hamadan Chess Association on behalf of I.R.Iran Chess Federation, was held from 24th to 31st July in Hamadan, western Iran.
257 players took participation in the 11-round Swiss event. Nine-times national champion GM Ehsan Ghaem Maghami, the top seeded player in the field, dominated the tournament and claimed the trophy with a total of 10 points, full point ahead of the second placed IM Logman Guliev. Prizes (US Dollars): 1st 2500$, 2nd 2000$, 3rd 1800$, 4th 1500$, 5th 1200$, 6th 800$, 7th-10th 400$.
