i think one of the exchange lines leads to a positive result for white: 1. Nxe7+ Rxe7 2. Bxh7+ Nxh7 3. Qxd7 Bxd7 4. Bxe7 winning the exchange and a pawn. if 1. … Qxe7, then 2. Bxf6 Bxh3 3. Bxe7 Rxe7 4. gxh3 wins a piece, with a spoiled pawn structure, but whatever. greets, jan
A straightforward Ne7 should be sufficient for an advantage:
1. Ne7 Re7 (Qe7 below) 2. Qh4! h5 (Qg4 is same result) 3. Bf6 gf6 4. Qh5 Qg4 5. Qh7 Kf8 6. Qh8 Qg8 7. Qf6 Be6 (Re6 possible, too) 8. Ra6 And I don’t see how black holds this two pawns down. At move 1 above, black does worse with
1. …..Qe7 2. Bf6 Bh3 3. Be7 Re7 4. gh3 leaves white up a piece for a pawn.
Looked at this for a while, and this is the best line I see for white. I keep feeling I am missing a mating attack.
Would an immediate 1. Nxd7+ work, opening up the diagonal for the bishop and queen to cooperate. Whichever piece recaptures the knight, 2. Qxh7 should be trouble for black.
Took me a while but I think 1.Nxe7+! due to backrank problems believe it or not …
a. 1. …, Qxe7 2.Bxf6, Qxf6 3.Rxa7!! wins on the spot and Bxh3 simply leaves white a piece up after some exchanges. b. 1. …, Rxe7 is forced but just looks horrible after 2.Qh4, not sure what black can do there.
I never considered this move, but it isn’t bad as far as I can tell:
1. Rfe1 Bd8 2. Qh4
There are several moves for white here, but this one looks best to my eye. Now the question is back on black. I am having a hard time finding a really playable move. All I can really see is h5 or maybe a5. Moves like Rf5 simply lose because of the weak back rank. Continuing:
Here, I had planned to take at a7, but then noticed that black can play Qa2 threatening mate after the rooks come off and win bishop at a7. All in all, at this point, I doubt white’s advantage is a clear win, but black is pretty busted up with weak pawns galore. Still, I prefer the line I outlined earlier, which I now believe is strongest since it still hasn’t been posted.
I think white should play Re1 to neutralize black’s rook and gain an advantage.

19. Nxe7+ !! Qxe7 20. Bxf6 Qxf6 21. Rxa7!!
if 19 .. Rxe7, then simply 20. Qh4 and black has no way of defending against Bxf6 and the following xh7 or other threats

Esq… 😉
1. Nxe7+ wins
If
1… Rxe7
2. Qh4 and White has the initiative
1…Qxe7
2. Bxf6 Bxh3
3. Bxe7 Rxe7
4. gxh3 and White has bishop for pawn
