1. Re3 Nc5 2. Rg3 Rb7 3. Nh6+ Kh8 4. Nf7+ Kg8 5. Nh6+ draw
Exactly. A draw. I’ll feed it into houdini and update u guys
I have no clue.
Well, a week later I have nothing more to add to this problem.
This is difficult. I would probably play:
1. Re7 Bf8
2. Rc7 Re8
3. Nd4
Preventing Re2 and planning Rff7 next, and after that Ne6 looks interesting.
I’m aware that black is up with a piece and that white playing like this looks too optimistic….
What about Re7?
1. Re3 Nc5 2. Rg3 Ra7 3. Nh6+ Kh8 4. Rf8+ Bxf8 5. Rg8++
1.Re3 Nc5
2.Rg3 Rb7
3.Rf4 Kh8 (3…Raa7 4.Nh6+ Kh8 5.Rf8+ Bxf8 6.Rg8#)
4.Rc4 Nb3
5.Rb4 Rxb4 (5…Rab8 6.Rxg7+ Rxg7 7.Rxb8+ Kf7 8.Nxg7)
6.cxb4 Ra7
7.Nxg7 Rxg7 (7…Nd2 8.Ne6+ Kh8 9.Rg4)
8.Rxb3 Rg4 and I think 9.Rg3 draws so 9.Kf2 Rd4 10.b5 and White has made progress.
Sorry that’s wrong although perhaps accidentally helpful to someone more skilful at chess than me.
