Students of the Russian Ural State Mining University (USMU) Daria Pustovoitova and Sanan Sjugirov have won the1st European Universities Chess Championship for women and men, respectively.
Pustovoitova was the convincing winner with 8,0/9 points, leaving the nearest followers point and a half behind. Sjugirov scored 7,5/9 points, half a point clear from GM Hovhannes Gabuzyan. Full standings below.
In the team standings USMU won the gold medal, the Armenian State University of Physical Culture took the silver, while University of Economics from Poland claimed the silver.
The Championships were held in Yerevan, Armenia from 6th to 11th October, 2015. The main organizer was Armenian Student Sports Federation (ARMSSF), with the support of the Armenian Chess Federation.
