Daily Chess Improvement: Quickie Chess Tactic! Chess tactic, Puzzle Solving Black to move. How should black proceed? Source: ChessToday.net
1. rd1 piece up.
b f3
1. …Rd1
2. Rxd1 Bxf3+
3. Kh2 Bxd1
Yep, after 1. …Rd1, white must lose a piece, even 2.Kg2 won’t save white’s knight.
I posted this puzzle in the previous thread:
Q4nk1/1pq2pp1/3p1B1p/1B1P4/8/2P2b2/P4PrP/4RK2 b – – 0 1
It is black to move and win.
Yes, it’s a very nice little problem. At first I managed to get only a draw, but then I had an idea. It’s very hard to notice. Here it is:
1. …Qc4+
2. Bxc4 Rxh2
3. Qxf8+ Kxf8
4. Re8+ Kxe8
5. Bb5+ Kf8
6. Bxg7+ Kxg7
7. Ke1 Bxd5
about 30 minutes
It is a tougher problem because it forces you to consider white’s own threats in a deeper way to find the right beginning. Well done.
I like your problems. They make me think hard.
