I could never solve this in my head- I got lost almost immediately by playing 2.Rh8 instead of the knight check first- then black can foul up that line with 2. ….Kg6 rather than cooperating with 2. …Kxh8. After that I couldn’t really find a way to continue the attack quickly enough and gave up. I did eventually find 2.Ng5, but then after 2. ….hg5, I got lost again with 3.Reh8, and thought I had it until I noticed the pseudosacrifice of 3. ….Qxd2+. At that point, I did give up and opened the comments to see Alena’s solution, and I don’t find a flaw in it.
If I had put it on the board, this is the sort of problem that would have taken me 15-20 minutes at a minimum. That is about the time I spent unsuccessfully trying it without a board.

11. Rxh4#

Very good concentration Alena. Could you try harder to build up more complete pictures of what other people are thinking please?
I always try hard to read mind of people I’m playing with and you know sometimes I actually do it.
