Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Of course, I am cheering for Wesley So in Corus B. But man oh man…the guy has his work cut out for him.
I’m looking forward to visit Wijk aan Zee.It is the Wimbledon of chess.
go naka
Well, anyone with NED nect to their name has no chance.
A:
GM Vassily Ivanchuk
B:
GM Varuzhan Akobian
C:
GM Ray Robson
I really don’t understand what a 2523 IM is doing in Group B, while stronger GMs are stuck in Group C. If it’s just to have a female representative, why not Hou or Humpy who are much more competitive? Muzychuk should prove herself in Group C first. Right now, she will just be a source of points for the highly-rated GMs in her group.
Someone at Corus must really hate Fabiano Caruana to put him in Group A. He’s going to get mauled. Those older 2700+ bandits will shave of his Elo points, and scalp him 🙁
“Someone at Corus must really hate Fabiano Caruana to put him in Group A.”
He put himself in Group A by winning Group B last year, remember?
Well, anyone with NED nect to their name has no chance.

He he he. LOL. Kind of like that rule in boxing: never bet on the white guy.
“A: GM Vassily Ivanchuk
B: GM Varuzhan Akobian
C: GM Ray Robson”
Why didn’t you go for Nakamura in Group A? That would be consistent with your choices for B and C.
Ivanchuk in A would be a great outsider win. Putting your money (with the bookis and) were your mouth is? I think this is between Kramnik and Carlsen. Anand will be a little handicaped by not wanting to show off to much before the WC match against Topalov.
Go Peter Leko!!!!!
I am rooting for
Group A Carlsen
Group B So
Group C Robson
Wow no one of African descent, i guess we just aint to bright! Not like the top guys huh Susan? WOWWWWWW!!! AS a matter of fact they SEEM so intelligent that they ignore their own World Champion and promote a kid with a rating, real genius work there huh Susan?
I am rooting for
Group A Kramnik
Group B Nisipeanu
I am rooting for Anand or Naka to win. I hope Carlsen crashes and burns.
