Interesting to see that Nigel Short is now serving tea at the event to a cautious Anna Ushenina. Plus, he’s a lot shorter than I realized.
🙂
Don’t drink the tea!
I think he’s proposing a marriage, and in a classy Brit-style offers a cup of tea instead of a ring.
He is preparing to insert a sharp object in her back.
He’s rather short, isn’t he?
Hmmm, yes, he does seem to have a rat-like stature.
Did I say rat!!!
Oh, my apologies to rodents of any sort!

Apologies to all rat life.

good to see nigel doing all he is good for being a waiter he is a miserable person and i hope he keeps loseing
I’m not sure where all the negative stuff from Nigel Short is coming from. I’m not really well informed about this. could anyone enlighten me?
I think Short and Fischer might suffer from some effect resulting from having been ‘prodigies’. There could be a desire on their own part to maintain that extra special status and, in the case of Fischer at least, we see the public refusing to allow any advancement (despite him buying 187 suits) symptomised in the insistence on referring to him as “Bobby”. It seems as good an explanation as any for the extraordinary lack of poise or social au fait by these two ex-prodigies.
Nigel would kick sand in a cripples face if he thought it would make him look good. It is sad when a person of Nigel’s ability, must resort to denigrating remarks about players stronger than he. Must really suffer some kind of inferiority complex.
Sheesh. You make it sound like he’s just putting on a show to look good in front of the press. Maybe they’re actually friends? As far as I can tell, Nigel Short is a human being, capable of relating to others.

Uh, actually yes. He has smarted up a bit and has decided to behave in front of cameras. I said he’s a jerk, not stupid.
Yes, Nigel is a human being who is equally capable of being a shallow self absorbed prick. So yes, he is capable of human behavior in the presence of cameras. Also, I hear he is a racist. Another fine human quality.
