    Does 1. Qg7+ Qxg7 2. Rc8+ Rd8 3. Rxd8+ Qf8 4. Rxf8# work? Os is there something I’ve missed?

    With double check staring White in the face, she just can’t permit the Black queen to protect the Black rook interpose square, d8. Time for a coy decoy, one queen to another.

    First I looked at
    1. Qc8+?
    but of course that is wrong, is met by 1. … Rd8.
    But my search for an improvement almost immediately gives a result:

    1. Qg7+ Qxg7
    2. Rc8+ Rd8
    3. Rxd8+ Qf8
    4. Rxf8#
