Sarah Chiang won again today to maintain a tie for 1st with Anna Styazhkina from Russia going into the final round at the World Girl’s Under 10 Championship, a full point ahead of the next group. Even though she has the best rating performance of her section, she is 2nd on tiebreak heading to the final round. What makes even more special is she was ranked 34th at the start of the event. She will have Black against a tough young Chinese girl in the final round.
Daniel Naroditsky also won again today to maintain a tie for 1st with the young Ukrainian phenom Illya Nyzhnyk. They both have 8.5 points in 10 games but Daniel is ahead on tiebreaks after 10 rounds. Daniel will have Black against FM Ivan Bukavshin, a tough young Russian player.
These are the only 2 in the hunt for Gold for the U.S. Good luck to Sarah, Daniel and the entire U.S. delegation!

“she was ranked 34th at the start of the event…”
All players that do not have rating or title ranked in alphabetical order.
But isn’t Sarah 34th seed because they seed the fide rated players, then the fide titled players with no rating, then seed all unrateds alphabetically? Sarah’s accomplishment is great, but her seeding number may not make it greater. http://wycc2007.tsf.org.tr/component/option,com_turnuva/task,show/dosya,61/Itemid,61/lang,en/
