Alton Frailey’s tenure as DeSoto school superintendent has lasted just over two years, but colleagues say the strong legacy he’ll leave behind next month will last much longer.
“Mr. Frailey has been here I think the shortest time of any DeSoto superintendent I’ve worked for, but he made the greatest impact on our kids,” said Sissy Lowe, who has worked in the district for 17 years. “He really put us back on track with the main thing, and that is the kids.”
Mr. Frailey begins his new job as leader of the Katy Independent School District near Houston on July 1. DeSoto ISD officials have hired the same search firm that found Mr. Frailey to seek out his successor.
