The Insight, with GM Henrik Danielsen
Polar Bears, Accelerated Dragons and more mythical creatures coming in the new video show
GM Henrik Danielsen is starting The Insight, his new video chess show on Chessdom.com. It will feature complete lectures of key elements in the games of chess, with lectures difficulty varying from U1800 to Grandmaster level.
GM Henrik Danielsen has prepared multiple lectures for the Chessdom readers. There is a crash course on Accelerated Dragon (11 lessons), the Rubinstein system secrets (5 videos), multiple practical endings and tricky openings, a special series on 1. e4 c5 2.c3 e6 (12 videos), the Stonewall (11 videos), and this is just part of “The Insight” that will be published on Chessdom.com in the following weeks.
Today we start with the “Introduction to the Polar Bear System”. This is a system developed by GM Henrik Danielsen himself, a deep analysis of the Bird 1. f4 . The opening has long history and was mentioned by Luis Ramírez de Lucena in his book Repetición de Amores y Arte de Ajedrez con ci Iuegos de Partido, published circa 1497. The British master Henry Edward Bird first played it in 1855 and continued to do so for the next 40 years. But what is coming from GM Henrik Danielsen is truly amazing: after the first ideas in the opening he goes on to analyze1… f5, 1… Nf6, 1… e6, 1… e5, 1… d6, 1… c6, 1… Nc6, 1… b6…. and this is just the beginning.
GM Henrik Danielsen says, “If you have no time, work, family, or if you want to be successful in your blitz games, it is important to study a slow system like The Polar Bear. You will often go in a not well known type position, and still be able to achieve very good results with white.”
The “Introduction to the Polar Bear System” is a series of two parts (Part 1 with two videos and Part 2 with three videos) that will serve as the basic knowledge for what is going to follow. Make sure to have a look at the videos, as later on comes a more advanced section with specific analysis, including recent 1. f4 Polar Bears that managed to take full points from 2500+ players, a string of videos called “The Polar Bear is still kicking”.
Here are the Polar Bear 1.1 and 1.2 videos, expect tomorrow the videos Polar Bear 2.1, 2.2, and 2.3. Saturday, Sunday, and Monday will be Rubinstein secrets days.
Very excellent.
