Thanks for holding it at a beautiful place, unlike most scholastic events.
Haven’t I seen this post before?!
What is the “American Scholastic Chess Federation” and will this event be USCF Rated?
Yes, it will be USCF rated as it is a USCF rated event. ASCF is just a local scholastic organization in Arizona.
This is the first time I’ve seen this post.
The tournament was USCF rated last year, I would expect (hope for) the same this year. There were 214 players last year.
The ASCF is the rating system Chess Emporium uses for its scholastic organization. I do not know if it if limited to only Arizona (Phoenix-area) or not. There might be pockets in California as well.
Personally, I’d love to see this tournament moved to Tucson with its strong scholastic program and 9 Queens organization.

it looks like a very interesting event !
What is the time control for the main event ?
Game in 45.
I was last year’s Junior High winner. It was a great tournament, and it was well managed. Good conditions, last year it was held at a decent middle school. Now it’s held at a Resort, so it’s obviously stepping up to be even better. Good luck to all, and I challenge you to join this tournament.
This was a great Tournament last year my daughter went 7-0 and Susan and her staff were great hosts.
