Nice one , struggled a bit at first trying to mate with the knight , but once you figure out that it’s impossible with the knight , it’s easy since it’s necessarily linked with a knight sacrifice to mate the trapped black king with your only other piece , the b pawn .
So 1-Nc6 force black to play a5 then 2-Na7 wins as black will have no other move than c6 , then just sacrifice your knight on b5 , followed by Kc4 to force black in zugzwang , obliged to hand the mate on b3
Thanks for the puzzle Susan , greetings from France 😉
Last quiz i wasn’t able to find the simplest winning plan, but here i’ve redeemed myself. Just move the night to c6-a7-b5 (giving it away), then the pawn will mate.
1. Sc6 was easy to see to force black to block the square a5. 1. -, a5. I found no way to a mate with the knight and I had another mating idea in my mind so I found: 2. Na7!, c6 3. Nb5!! and the rest is similar to one we had some days (weeks?) before. (cxb5+ 4. Kxc5, b4 5. Kb5, b3 6. axb3#)
The knight sacrifice given by others here is of course very stylish and is the only way to force mate in 6. Worth noting, though, that there is a mate in maximum of 8 using the knight.

Its a pretty nice mate:
1.Nc6 a5 2.Na7 c6 3.Nb5! cxb5+ 4.Kxc5 b4 5.Kc4 b3 6.axb3#.
1.Nc6 a5 2.Na7 c6 3.Nb5 cxb5
4.Kxc5 b4 5.Kc4 b3 6.axb3 mate
GM-norm?
1. Kxc5…

6. Nb6#

1.Nd3 Ka5
2.Kxc5 Ka4
3.Nc1 Ka5
4.Nb3+ Ka4
5.Kc4 c6
6.Kc5 a5
7.Kc4 c5
8.Nxc5 mate
2…c6 and 1…a5 result in quicker mates (5 to 6 moves)
nice puzzle, like to see more this type of forcing puzzle!!
