Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
I heard Carlsen was not feeling well. One question:
Do some top players switch their playing style when they don’t feel in good shape? Maybe Carlsen should go for more positional and less sharp play on such days.
Why do you always search for reasons when Carlsen loses?
I heard the date of expiry of his orange juice was expired…
Stop this nonsense, please. That boy is good and wins some cool games but he is not invicible and so Chucky won without any deeper reason just by playing a bit more exact than Carlsen did today.
Well, apparently Carlsen caught a virus in Moscow and is allegedly still affected by it. Quite frankly, I would not see why going for more positional – and, thus, likely longer-lasting – games would be advantegous as compared to entering a tactical slugfest. Either way, Carlsen is playing fine. Also, I cannot say that he is too lucky as he blunders jsut like his opponents do. So all this Nakamura crap talk is just plain stupid (sorry for the offensive wording but Naka’s remarks are just plain annoying).
Of course Carlsen “is good and wins some cool games but he is not invicible”.
well, Carlsen chose to castle long today – castling long in the QG usually means seeking trouble and war on the board.
I want to ask the question nevertheless …
Do some players switch their playing style subject to their personal mood?
Sorry, but the question remains silly. Of course they do. Anybody who plays chess will tell you that. I personally tend to play strictly positional, however, on occasions I just think “what the h#$!” and venture into somethign different. This is just like life: you may love beach vacations, yet sometimes you may just get fed up with them and decide to mix things up for a change. So seriously, what is your question about?!
Seriously….
These guys are so good – turning up day to day and perform at this level – you can all make snide remarks or excuses you like but think about it…….there is nothing like this level of play. In my eyes, they are all champions!! I love the competition and may the best man win.
Having posted my last comment…
HERE COMES CHUCKY…..hahaha
By the way: Carlsen was on a german sports internet website as “top of the day” yesterday ( http://www.sportal.de/sportal/generated/dreierkette/index_topflop549.html ).
That is quite interesting as there are quite rarely chess reports in Germany.
What they say is not correct stating Carlsen as nomber one player but that doesn’t matter over the fact that they had a top of the day from chess. 🙂
The Larry/Mig commentary on chess.fm – unmissable – noted that Marcus Carlsen is now clear of the ‘Moscow bug’.
LC thought Carlsen had misplayed the opening and never recovered. Lucky for him that Aronian got a result.
Who is Marcus Carlsen?
Gegga
You are trying to turn Carlsen into Kramnik.
Whenever he loses it is because he isn’t well- he would never lose otherwise.
Yeah, the youngster needs excuses for health, while the oldies with their bellies are fit. C’mon, what a crap! Carlsen lost … his opponent played much better … full stop!
