More rating points for Magnus of course. But he can keep raking up rating points, but to the discerning public eye,he is no world champion unless he bests the best in head to head matches.Sure,he is hoping that FIDE reverts to knockout or even better, a round robin format, where is chances will be pretty high, but that is no way to decide a world championship. It has to be head to head matches.
Wow! more rating points coming up for Carlsen. He can keep crowing about that at least.
Pelletier had around 20 minutes to play 20 moves before reaching the first time control. That’s the real reason of his loss.
Carlsen does what he always does. Plays fast and well and grinds em down. This is a typical Carlsen win. No big advantage..just play and play until his opponents time runs out and he breaks. Sort of reminds me of Karpov in the early 80’s.
