Baku Chess Olympiad From Behind The Lens
by Paul Truong
I love to take pictures. It is a huge passion for me. But I am not a technical photographer. I never went to school for it. I do not use flash. I do not photoshop my photos. I like things natural so what you see is what you get 🙂
My photography style is simple. I want to make all my subjects look as good as possible! And I want the people at home to see what I see and feel what I feel at various events. In these two weeks at Baku Olympiad, I want everyone to have the feeling that they are right there where the actions are.
I am not a professional photographer even though my photos have appeared in Sports Illustrated, ESPN magazine / website, NY Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, etc., as well as many magazines and book covers.
I have been an official photographer for many World Chess Championships, World Cups, Chess Olympiads and various major chess events starting in 2004.
If you enjoy my photos and want to use them, please feel free to do it. To be able to share what I love is what it is all about 🙂
