Participation of three Azerbaijani chess players in Moscow Open 2013 confirmed
The appeals of grandmasters Rauf Mammadov, Eltaj Safarli and Gadir Huseynov who became the silver winners of the world chess championship among cities in Al-Ayne in late December have been confirmed.
Today Rauf Mammadov (2651) is the fifth confirmed participant of the tournament, Eltaj Safarli is the eighth (2638), Gadir Huseynov (2623) is 14th. Considering the fact that the rating of all the three Azerbaijani chess players tops 2600 points, no starting fee is paid to them.
The list of tournament A – the stage of the Russian cup-is led by the European champion of 2010 Yan Nepomnyashiy (2703).
Of Azerbaijani chess players the applications were also submitted by Jahangir Agarahimov, Nurlan Shabanov, Zaur Ojagverdiyev, Vusal Ahmadov, Gurban Bayramov, Fateh Ilmanov and Fateh Imanov.
The chess festival of Moscow Open 2013 is due in Moscow from 31 January until 11 February 2013. In the main tournaments the play days are from 2 to 10 February.
Tournament A is played by the classical scheme (a game a day) with the time control of 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes with added 30 seconds for every move beginning from the first one.
Being late for more than 30 minutes is considered a defeat.
