Azerbaijan introduces chess in general education curriculum

Baku, Fineko/abc.az. In 2013-14 school year the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan published 2,042,800 textbooks of 73 names for II, IV, VIII, IX and X classes and 1,971,600 textbooks of 68 names for V and VI classes on the basis of curriculum.

The Ministry reports that in the current school year it issued 31,134 textbooks and teaching aids for teachers on subject “Chess” for the II, III and IV pilot classes.

“These materials have been distributed among secondary schools of the country,” the MoE said.
