Attacking chess tactic review Chess tactic, Puzzle Solving Black to move. How should Black proceed? 2r3k1/P2R1p1p/2r1p1pP/8/5P2/BR2QbP1/6q1/1B2K3 b – – 0 1 Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
I recognize this problem. Nevertheless:
1. … Rc1+ 2. Bxc1 Rxc1+ 3. Qxc1 Qe2#
The key is to deflect the White Q from the defence of e2.
Black achieves this by ..RC1+.
If Bxc1,Rxc1+,Qxc1,Qxe2++.
.. ,RC1+
Bxc1,RxC1+
Qxc1,Qe2+
Wasn’t this one on the site before?
..Rc1+
Qxc1 Qe2#
Rd1 Rxd1#
Bxc1 Rxc1+ Qxc1 Qe2#
Bxc1 Rxc1+ Rd1 Rxd1#
1. … Rc1 2. Bc1 Rc1 and now
if 3. Qc1 Qe2#
if 3. Rd1 Rd1#
And just for completeness – after White plays Rc1+ , Black can also play Rd1 , but this interposing results in an even faster loss , as White replies Rxd1 mate.
Rf8+ too simple
Rf8 rf8& qd7 mate
1. Rf8+! Bxf8
2. Rxf8+ Qxf8
3. Qd7+ checkmate
1.Rc1+Bxc1
2.Rxc1+Qxc1
3.Qe2#
1.Rc1+Bxc1
2.Rxc1+Rd1
3.Rxd1#
At first a looked at Qh1+? since Rc1+ just looked premature. But looking once more, it must be:
1. … Rc1+!
2. Bxc1 (Rd1 Rxd1#) Rxc1+!
3. Qxc1 (Rd1 Rxd1#) Qe2#
All enforced mate in 3, and quite simple, white doesn’t even get time to sack back some piece…
1. … ♜c1+
2. ♕xc1 ♛e2#
2. ♖d1 ♜xd1#
2. ♗xc1 ♜xc1+
3. ♕xc1 ♛e2#
3. ♖d1 ♜xd1#
No clue.
Rc6-c1
Rc1+ will lead to checkmate on e2 after exchanges on c1.
White Q is tied to the control of e2 square, else …. Qe2#.So c1 square is in effect guarded by only white B.Hence
1… Rc1+
2.Bxc1 Rxc1+
3.Rd1 Rxd1#
Rc1. Easy deflection
