Vietnam wins gold medal at Asia Chess Championships 2016
Vietnamese chess player Nguyen Thi Mai Hung excellently won a gold medal at the 2016 Asian Chess Championships in Uzbekistan after the nine competitive games yesterday.
With her victory of 7, 5 point, Mai Hung has become the first Vietnamese chess player winning the gold medal in individual blitz category at the Asian Chess Championships so far.
The silver medal went to Indian player Vaishali R with 6, 5 point.
In the same category for men, Le Quang Liem owned a silver medal after nine competitive games.
In April, Mai Hung ever grabbed two gold medals and bronze medal in the categories of individual rapid women, blitz team and individual blitz respectively at Asian Nations Cup Chess Team Championship in United Arab Emirates. Last year, the gold medal went to Mai Hung at the 2015 Asian Chess Championships in Indonesia.
