Mekhitarian captures 2nd place and Melkumyan shows perfect result
YEREVAN. – Armenian GM Hrant Melkumyan has scored a total of 3 points after three rounds and is leading, together with a group of several other participants, in the Politiken Cup chess tournament that is held in Copenhagen, Denmark, Armchess reports.
Separately, GM Krikor Sevag Mekhitarian garnered 6.5 points out of 8 points and took the second prize, from among 233 participants, at the chess open that was held in Maringa, Brazil.
FIDE Master Armen Proudian amassed 5.5 points during this competition.
The winner of this tournament was GM Sandro Mareco (Argentina), with 7.5 points.
