Armenia to purchase facilities for teaching chess in schools

YEREVAN. – Elementary classes at Armenian public schools will have new required subject, chess class, from September. Schools need facilities for teaching the subject.
The government confirmed at Thursday’s session the result of the purchasing deal between the Ministry of Education and Bellis Company. The contract amounts to AMD 385,945,560.
Armenian executive body granted AMD 50 million to the Ministry of Urban Development for the construction of a school in Armenian Kapan city, and AMD 2,450,000 for movie production, government press service informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Armenian government also granted AMD 4,500,000 to Armenian Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Armenia’s independence. The amount of AMD 785,484,000 was granted to National Statistical Service of Armenia to hold preparation works of Census-2011.
