Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Cheparinov throws two games to Topalov to help him with the tournament. I do not think these two should play in the same tournament.
And where is your evidence for that? Topalov has been winning almost every other game as well, save for the ones with Ivanchuk. I don’t see any conspiracy here. He is simply playing well, as hard as it may be for some people to swallow the fact.
Muhahahaha! What a joke! I knew the results of the two games between these two guys before the tournament – especially when Topalov is not clearly dominating – since Ivanchuk is. They clearly have learnt the Soviet approach to the game in Bulgaria.
– Mr X –
Yeah, the fact was indeed swallowed. At least a few onces…

=====================
muhahahahaha
How do you measure the difference between the domination of Topalov and Ivanchuk and what makes Ivanchuk a clear dominator since there is only 0.5 points difference?!
Chepa did lose to Ivanchuk too!!
Aronian lost two games against Topalov – did you know the result of these before the games were played, as well?!???
It would have been supid for Chepa to take any points from Topa. Why not realize the truth?
Just look at other team competitions where the team mates are supporting their strongest guy. A way to avoid this is by using elimination rules, or by not inviting players in the same team to a small tournament like this.
Nothing than unproved accusations so far.
Of course it may be that they didn’t play correctly but can anyone prove this? No? Than just stop this accuations, please.
Exciting tounament with Ivanchuk (6.5/8) an Topalov (6/8) both playing great tournaments.
Ivanchuk seems to weaken but he is still one half point in front with only two rounds to go.
Good luck to both of them!
Best regards
Jochen
No, Jochen, the point is not that they broke the rules, they didn’t, but that it becomes harder for non team players to beat cooperating players in a tournament. Just the fact.
If we want to do something about it, change the rules of coming small tournaments. This one is already contaminated. I recall Fischer’s critique of similar tournaments.
That’s why we need a WCC Match and not a tournament!
Cheparinov would of course loose all his games to Topalov.
I wrote already last week why Cheparinov will loose both games.
51,000.- extra money is at stake !
Think about it.
You don’t bite the hand that feeds you! ;p
Stop the silly pre-arranged games!
Toplalov and Cheparinov are obviously a “good” team…
…and 51,000.- Euros (~75,000.- US $) are quite some easy extra money in addition to the prize money!
Disgusting!!!
Please Organizers don’t invite Topalov & Cheparinov to your tourneys…
What if Cheparinov won both games? Every silly person on here would say, “Topalov is throwing games!” If they drew the same silly people would say, “We gotta have new rules to stop draws.” I hate to brake it to you but the result is going to be either win, lose or draw. sorry 😛
Comon stop the arranged match crap. Cheparinov is still not exactly a 2700 level player. Topalov is miles away. He is more of an 2800 and is the more experienced and smarter player. Winning against Cheparinov would not be a surprise anyway. Even if Cheap tries hard he would still probably lose. The people that are claiming such funny things are probably just jealous of Danailov’s team and his brilliant business acumen. Something most of you would never possess and will be just a mere 2100 level players pretending to be experts.
With pre-arranged games rating doesn’t matter. Even I could win against the top players if the game was set up.
Why defend the possibility of pre-arranged games? It means death to economical sponsors, people are not born yesterday. Real games are ones where both players gain by winning, not losing.
…just jealous of Danailov’s team …”
================================
Why do you mention Danailov now?
Haha, you made a mistake to discover this way who do you really rooting for.
“I don’t see any conspiracy here. He is simply playing well, as hard as it may be for some people to swallow the fact.”
How does your claiming it make it a “fact”?
The first guy was right. It does look bad for Topalov and his second to be playing together in such a small tournament, when his second loses every game to him.
Okay, he was wrong to state as a fact that Cheparinov threw them. There’s no proof of that either. But it does look bad. They shouldn’t be playing together this way. Cheparinov can’t play his best against his boss, and there’s a strong need for a Bulgarian to win the tournament.
ok guys – aronian threw 2 games to topalov too. the same will happen to Bu tomorrow. and last but not least – Bu and Aronian appear to be hidden Bulgarians…
lol
Every game doesn’t have to be fixed, that’s why the method is so brilliant. No real cheating going on, it is not against the rules to help your opponent win. Just don’t make it too obvious..
recently in Baku, Cheparinovstarted with -4 against players who are not of the Topalov’s class. Why should he be capable of taking something from his teacher?
“Bu and Aronian appear to be hidden Bulgarians…
lol”
The jokes on you if you think Cheparinov can play as hard against Ivanchuk as he can against Topalov. This is common sense.
Claiming that we can’t think Cheparinov had trouble playing his best without thinking that anybody Topalov beat had the same problem is just nonsense on your part.
“ok guys – aronian threw 2 games to topalov too. the same will happen to Bu tomorrow. and last but not least – Bu and Aronian appear to be hidden Bulgarians…
lol”
And Bu did win, so this is another prove of the Bulgarian setup. You see ELO doesn’t explain everything. When they have around 2700 they’re all capable of winning a good position against 2750+.
lol!
