When was the last time both contestants were NOT from the Eastern Block?
I would like that Carlsen wins, but I think Anand will do. These last games of candidates tournment gave me an impression that Carlsen is not “ready” for a world campionship yet. He looked like more tired than the others players, this we can see in the press interview after the last round, and didn’t deal very well with the pressure when it appeared. The problem with the time in the last game was another signal.
I am big Carlsen’s fan, he is my favorite player among all of active players today, but Anand, besides all, has a great advantage in direct confrontation with Carlsen. The history of them, in direct confrontation, is very favorable to Anand. Well, I truly hope I am wrong on that.

Anand will not have Peter Heine’s help.
Nor will Rustam help him again (because Rustam said that the relationship between Anand and him were intense during the Gelfand match.)
Basically, Anand will have to redo his team.
