As one of the posters has pointed out, the recently concluded Moscow Open B Group was won by a 10 year old Ukrainian boy name Illya Nyzhnyk with the score of 8.5 / 9!! His performance rating was 2633!

I’m just gobsmacked!
That is almost unbelievable.
What will he do for an encore.
Will Magnus Carlsen be able to hold this kid off when he is 16.
I do suspect that it is easier to get a 2600 performance against 2200 players then it would be to get the same tournament performance rating against 2600 players.
I don’t believe this. I think we have more cheating going on.
I think eventually there will be a story:
BOY CHECKMATES GRANDMASTER FROM INSIDE THE WOMB
In an unprecedented event an unborn baby reached grandmaster status by winning Linaires. Via ultrasound, the fetus was allowed to signal moves to his mother. “I always knew he was smart,” said the mother. He did my taxes while in the first trimester. At that point I knew he would be great someday.”
I’m going to go out on a limb and predict a great future for him~
That must be some kind of record.
lol @ Jerry & Jud!
Buy that kid a vowel.
he obviously got lucky. the players probaly thought he was not good and didnt play there best. im tired of hearing baout supposed talent. theyve said the same thing baout so many players that are supposedly the next fischer. it never materializes. when they get real good then talk about them. one tournament means nothing. you have to be consistent to be great.
wolverine.
Wow!
another wunderkid?
boring.
you can watch this boy live doing a simul. He is good.

They interview him also.
I don’t buy this. That kid must be one of Kirzan’s alleged alien contacts.
little Fisher 😉

I’ve got two words:
bluetooth teddybear
His last name sounds female, so if he ever gets popular I guess we’ll be calling him Nyzhnyk or Nyz.
