Baseball is an American pastime. Millions and millions of fans attend home games of their favorite teams each year. The fans are passionate about their favorite players and teams. And yet there are more people playing chess than baseball, football, basketball or soccer, etc.
Baseball is great but let’s show our passion for the game we love – CHESS!!!
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
I love baseball but I love chess much more! Yeah! Chess!

Yes, chess can be popular but it needs to be more exciting though.
Chess, like most professional sports, needs a vision, an overriding philosophy to guide the young, as well as the old; the beginner, as well as the grandmaster; the enthusiast, as well as the newcomer. A philosophy, as well as a commitment, that the ethics, the security, and the safety of the professional and amateur environments within organized chess shall forever encompass more than any one individual or group. That the International Membership of chess players shall forever set aside their own petty differences and stand united as a team, as a united testimony that humanity has at last risen above simple, individual desires.
When this goal is finally reached, then, AND ONLY then, will any chess player, ANYWHERE upon the face of this earth truly know and celebrate their membership in the WORLD CHESS team, a team which knows no borders, a team which castigates no ideology, a team FAR GREATER than the sum of its parts.
