During my stay in Buenos Aires, I decided to visit the historic “Club Argentino” chess club with over 400 members. This is where Alekhine and Capablanca played their WC match in 1927. This is also THE chess table where they played their 1927 match on with the final position of the final game displayed!
Here are some members of this historic club.
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Is that the Fischer-Petrosian 1971 Table & Pieces in the background?
Can you post a photo of that too, please.
Thanks.
Very nice pic Susan: Save it with care, because that one was the most important world championship.
Why? The fall will give you answers 😀
Maybe that was the biggest surprise in world championships in all time: Capablanca was considerate invencible in a match – maybe Capablanca underestimated his oponent.
It as a pity Alekhine never permited a rematch after. It had been a great rematch.
