Yasser Seirawan has been relatively inactive for years, with the exception of just a few games in Holland here and there. But his play in the World Team Championship has been inspiring. After beating Judit yesterday, he scored again today against Mamedyarov, one of the top players in the world today, to help team USA beat Azerbaijan.

Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Amazing Yasser.
I have to say, I am impressed by Yasser. I was very skeptical when he was announced as a member of the team, glad to have been proven wrong!
I also love GM Seirawan’s commentary when he does one of those on ICC.
Kamsky is fantastic too! He has beaten Aronian and Radjabov in this tournament alone. Too bad the match against Gelfand went into tie breaker.
I think GM Hikaru Nakamura could learn a great deal from a wily vet like GM Yasser Seirawan.
I’m happy and impressed by Yasser. I was truly wondering what this has-been was doing playing for the USA.Undoubtedly a great player in the yesteryears. A great teacher, commentator and gentleman.
