Boise 9-year-old wins national chess title

BOISE, Idaho (AP) – 9-year-old Boise resident Luke Harmon is a national chess champion.
Harmon took first place overall with a perfect 7-0 score in the K-12 Collegiate Grade Championships in Houston. He also took home a national title in the K-6 Speed Chess Championships.
The skill seems to run in the family. His mom and her husband, Ava and Daniel Vellotti, run a chess-coaching business.
More than 1,5000 students competed in last week’s national championship.

Looks like he’s the real deal.
Doctor’s son : “I can be sick for nothing”
Preacher’s son : “I can be good for nothing”
That last anonymous comment makes no logical sense when you think about it. “sick” is what doctors attempt to help. “good” is not what preachers attempt to help, but rather “bad.” Surprising inconsistency on this site.

OK, so to break the tension, here’s a joke.
These three kids are sitting around talking about getting stuff for free. The first kid says “My dad’s a doctor, so I can be sick for nothing.” The second kid says “My dad’s a teacher, so I can be smart for nothing.” The third kid says “Well, my dad’s a pastor, so I can be good for nothing.”
Well, it was funny when I first heard it.
I liked those kids jokes. They were refreshingly enjoyable. Delicious even!
