Carsten Hensel – Silvio Danailov
What is your opinion?
1. Do they help the players they represent?
2. Do they hurt the players they represent?
3. Do they make no impact what so ever?
Will Danailov allow Topalov to show up tomorrow?
If game 5 takes place as planned, the LIVE blog commentary will begin at 7 AM right here!
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Mr.Hensel deserves highest credit so far. He clearly helps Kramnik and shows intelligent and respectable behavior expected form such high flying person.
Mr.Danailov behaves as usual. He reminds me of Don King. He broke Pono down, and now doing the same with Veselin. The question is, does he already have a new rising star to replace Veselin? May be, Cheparinov?
I hope Topalov shows up tomorrow. How will it look if he runs away after two losses? It’s not as if Kramnik played impeccably, Topalov himself blundered, and Kramnik did his share of blunders, too. Topalov needs to cut the umbilical cord between him and Danailov.
So far Hensel looks better, mostly because he’s invisible. And Kramnik-Hensel duo come across as calmer and more confident than the other.
The motto of the Republic of India (my country) as well as that of the Czech Republic is Truth Prevails.
We do not know at the moment who is being completely honest regarding this issue. But if someone is clear in his or her conscience about what he or she is doing, then that person should have no problem executing his or her plans.
Whether those plans will succeed is another thing. But we can always hope that “chess truth” or some greater “truth” will prevail.

Hensel is the clear winner. Tiger Woods had a caddy like Danilov once. Fluffy was fired.
Danilov will be fired as well. His job is to reduce pressure, not create it.
HIs brain chip tirade will down in bizarre chess history.
“Find the best neurosurgeon in Russia to operate Vesselin’s brain! The chip was installed in Houston and we paid USD 2 M,” angry Silvio Danailov said in an interview for NTV Plus Sport, as cited by Darik News.
Will Danailov allow Topalov to show up?
Danailov has no say in what Topalov does. Danailov can try to persuade Topalov, but Topalov can fire Danailov any time he wishes. Topalov is responsible for the threat not to play. Danailov was just the spokesman.
Topalov wants to play on.
1. Yes.
2. No.
3. No.
Strange questions, but anyway.
Decision of the Appeal`s Committee of the Match Topalov-Kramnik to the Appeal of Mr. Danailov
FIDE is publishing the Decision of the Appeal`s Committee of the World Chess Championship Match Topalov-Kramnik to the Appeal of the Head of the Bulgarian Delegation Mr. Silvio Danailov English translation, dated 28 September 2006.
Elista, September 28th, 2006
Decision of the Appeals Committee to the appeal of Mr. Danailov
The Appeals Committee has received today an appeal from the Head of the Bulgarian Delegation, Mr. Danailov, regarding the use of the rest rooms and toilets during the match Topalov – Kramnik.
We have received from the Organizers part of the video recording of the rest room from games 1, 2 and 4 and the whole recording of game 3. There were technical problems that did not allow a full recording of the rest rooms where a partial recording was made available.
In the appeal there is an exaggeration of the number of times that Mr. Kramnik visited the toilet. Despite there being an unusual number of visits, this is insufficient on its own to come to a conclusion.
In order that the World Championship can continue running smoothly, the Appeals Committee has decided: (a) To close both the toilets in the players’ rest rooms and to open another toilet that will be available only to the two players.
(b) Not to accept the request of Mr. Danailov, to stop the use of the rest rooms by the players.
(c) The Appeals Committee believes that the publication of the videotapes to the mass media is not within our authority and we consider such action to be against the privacy of the players.
(d) The Appeals Committee will return the fee of USD 5,000 for the appeal to Mr. Danailov.
The Appeals Committee would like to thank the Organizing Committee for their cooperation and emphasize that thorough inspections, including rest rooms and toilets, are made prior to each game involving the Arbiters and representatives of both players’ delegations. Complete satisfaction has been expressed on all occasions.

btw it is said Topalov has a contract with Danailov without an end date, wich means if he should fire him it gonna cost Topalov a lot of money

And now Mister Kramnik answers!
To my mind, the blame is for Topalov! This great chessplayer and fighter over the board is no more an idol for me.
I’m so desappointed about his claim! And he and all know really that all rooms are inspected conciously by both team and referees before each game!
Dainilov is a big fat rat to act such a way!
I was hoping that Topalov was such a great champion to prove OTB how one man must play chess.
I’m so desappointed!
Let’s the players play!!
It would, indeed, be a shame if Mr. Topalov does not continue. His manager should persuade him to do so. It is patently absurd to blame Mr. Kramnik of cheating! He has made his fair share of mistakes that Topalov could have capitalized on and either won or pulled off a draw. If Topalov were playing, say, Rybka (the computer chess program) or Shredder 9, he (or Kramnik) would be easily defeated. So would Mr. Kramnik. On a side note, the “man vs machine” is a joke because the human isn’t playing the best chess program(s)…he’ll be playing Fritz 9. Still shouldn’t be much of a problem for Fritz 9 to win.
Defeat stings those with egos and a lot to lose. Who has the “most to lose” in this match? It is only my opinion but I think Topalov has the most to lose. At least Kramnik can say “I defeated Kasparov.” Topalov could not beat Kasparov in a match; at least, not at the time of that Kramnik did.
It might seem odd to some that Mr. Kramnik goes to the restroom that DOES NOT have video cameras. But, how many people would honestly want to go into a restroom with video cameras in them?
This is being used as an excuse by the losing side (i.e. Topalov) to “save” his FIDE title and quit. If this happens, he should be denied any prize money.
Again, the moves in each game speak for themselves. You can blame Kramnik of cheating with computers. Yet, this doesn’t explain why he made certain unwise (if not outright blunders) in the first 2 games. He still won.
Topalov is acting as a childish sore loser. If he quits, he should be stripped of his title.
Mr. Kramnik doesn’t have to “cheat” to beat the best in the world. He already defeated Kasparov to win his title credentials.
This is a real shame. For the sake of chess, let us all hope the match goes on. Topalov can still win. He’s proven it many times that he can make up a deficit.
But, to many, he isn’t the “true” world champion anyway because he did not defeat Kasparov as Kramnik did. FIDE is a corrupt organization run by a questionable character.
He’s being defeated and doesn’t like. ‘Nuff said.
Susan,
Where are your updates on the ongoing drama in Elista?
I, for one, now favors Kramnik. I loved Topalov’s game just before this saga but his manager’s behaviour soured my high estimation of Topalov.
I am curious as to why Susan is not quick to post updates on her blog this time around.

We barely heard about Mr. Hensel … which means he does what a manager is supposed to do, being invisible regarding the profession and deal with the negociations with discretion. The less we know about the manager, the better the manager is.
Unfortunately for Topalov, Mr. Danailov is not a manager he can fire (unless not without a conflict). It is like asking Sharapova for firing his father as trainer… just look how difficult was for Gata Kamsky, he even needed to retire… The circunstances in which Topalov and Danailov met were when Topalov was in his youth (befor being famous) and became a sort of pathernal figure for him. So, despite all the tantrums of Mr Danailov, if Topalov ” firs him”, he has the constant pressure of “Thanks to me you are in the top now, you own me respect … now you want to separate?… bla bla bla and all the pressure)” In other words, Topalov is the instrument Danailov has to fulfill his dreams of victory, fame and money… eventually Topalov will breakdown if he continues with such management.
