Who Wants To Be a Superhero? was surprisingly good. The Joe Schmoe Show was good in a quirky way too. Hard to pick a third.
I’m living in Sweden and I know nothing about your tv, but, anyhow: I don’t watch reality shows! Not a single one of (at least) 100 which are going on our tv 🙂

Never watch them. Tried a couple of time, but they seemed either too stupid or too boring. So, now I never even check them out. The work “reality show” seems synonymous with “trash.”

I think Nigel Short had a great idea for a chess reality show. You take a complete chess novice and turn him into a chess master in about 40 weeks. Now you could do it in the style of MTV’s “Real World”, but better would be more a docu-drama of the training (by a team of Grandmasters); followed by games from some match or tournament our contestant played with a post-mortem done by the training team. I don’t think NBC would do it, but Polgar Productions, in combination with You Tube, could very well give us 10 minutes a day on the weekday shows and a 30 minute tournament round up show. What to call it? The naming is very important! “The Sacrifice” sounds interesting.

maybe I should get a life and give up chess and watch reality tv.

Pick the Polgar kids. start documenting it now. they will both become masters for sure.

Liked Short’s idea though.
But if he said that, he probably had a hidden pick at some GM’s that he consider untallented.
Susan is going to do some training videos. have the person learn chess from the training videos and then play in a real tournament.
first let him play and see how ‘bad’ he is. then the vidoes. then lets see how ‘good’ he is.

I never watch tv. it is for the mindless.

I think his response was more than fun.
I think he was being sarcastic and funny. or at least trying to be funny.
that guy was wasting bandwidth complaining that someone else was wasting bandwidth trying to be funny. at least the first guy tried some humor. the second guy was just complaining.

How much did I just waste. how much will you waste telling me how much I wasted and the other people wasted.
I have to get a life today. Tonight, I have to go to the chess club and open up set up chairs make coffee. will that waste bandwidth also.
