Thank you for all your support in my mission to improve the US Chess Culture. Without the exeption of a few typical chess politicians, I have received a few thousand supporting messages and email in the past 24 hours alone.
This is the kind of excitement and enthusiasm we need to make a difference for chess in the United States and around the world. Many have suggested me to give up and form a new organization. Perhaps it is the right thing to do. But I personally do not think it is hopeless. I think together WE can make a difference.
People used to say women can never earn the Grandmaster title. Wrong! People used to say machine can never beat humans. Wrong! Things CAN improve if we put our minds into it. Let’s end all negativities and let’s focus on what is needed to be done. I feel energized! I am excited about this new mission! Thank you AGAIN for ALL of your support!
Best of luck to you and your team. To be honest, part of me hopes that you DON’T get elected. Politics at any level tends to be dirty business and can exact a great toll on even the strongest people, and I often wonder if one is better off working outside the system in order to make the world a better place. Presently, you are able to accomplish a great deal because you are free to do what you want. As an elected official, you will have to follow rules, go by consensus, and constantly fight red tape.
Whatever happens, let’s all hope it turns out for the better!
Susan,
Here’s an odd idea. I wonder, after seeing the results of Kramnik vs. Deep Fritz, if maybe a lower ranked player might fare better, who might come up with moves not familiar to the machine’s programming.
FORZA SUSAN!!!!
You are very welcome Susan! Thank you for all of your incredible and hard work!
oh by the way nice picture 🙂
No, thank YOU, Susan!
I am energized by your decision too Susan. I am really excited that the future of chess in USA is looking up now. We really are so lucky to have you live in USA and now even more lucky to have you take this important step to fix some of the deep problems in chess today in usa.
I am very happy. I will be working to get you some votes.
I was thinking yesterday that if you posted up some nice flyers that we could download and print out. Then I could make many copies and pass them out at the chess clubs. If many people do this we will hit many players all across America to get out the vote.
I think it would be fun to go down to the chess clubs with some flyers. it would get everyone talking about the election and we could have a good discussion on how important it is to get everyone to vote for Susan and the entire slate.

Please put your fears to the side. There are 2 super important rules in life.
NEVER MAKE DECISIONS BASED ON FEAR.
ALL DECISIONS BASED ON FEAR ARE THE WRONG DECISION.
most people will argue with rule 2, but it is absolutely true. just start paying attention to rule 2 and you will come to see the truth in that rule.
In my book, you are “the Queen of Chess” – not only because of your qualities as a person, but also because of what you have given back to this game we love so much. You are as good to Chess as it has been to you!
And so I say: “Long live the Queen of Chess! Long live U. S. Chess!”

Yes, Polgar team 8-1/2 x 11 informational flyers that would print well in either black & white or color that we could download and distribute to our chess friends and at our USCF-affiliate clubs would be very helpful for us who want to Polgarize the USCF.
“Polgarize the USCF”. That’s a good one. Maybe that should be the campaign slogan.

Yes, but what’s she going to do? I hate to dampen the festivities. We all know US Chess is a mess. What’s her plan to fix it? Taking away votes from Sam Sloan is one good thing. I’m all for that. Anything else?
Congratulations for your blog, Susan. It is very beatiful and interesting, and there is a lot of interesting chess links on it. I put its on my favorites fastly; and I visit its every day. I didnt know its until few days ago. ( I am just a medium chess player, from Brazil, who plays at Internet Chess Club sometimes, but I am getting better :o) ).
Congratulations, one more time.
No Susan, if you put one-half the effort and heart-and-soul that I think you’re going to put into chess via the USCF, we should Thank You!
With your innate goodness and your sphere of influence, only good can result from your unselfish involvement. Many thanks and best wishes!
