It’s a great match!
Federer is the greatest ever!
Susan, I see you follow tennis. What is the catch? Do you play?
After watching Bjorn Borg win 5 consecutive Wimbledon’s in the late 1970’s (and barely loosing his 6th to McEnroe in the finals), I felt confident this 5-straight would never again be achieved during my lifetime.
Everything new is old; unless Federer can make it 6 consecutive in 2008.

BTWay, Borg’s loss to McEnroe to end the streak also ended Borg’s career. Borg needed some time off due to exhaustion from stress.
One year later Borg requested a special waiver to grant him a spot in Wimbledon, even tho Borg had not earned such a spot during the previous 12 months. To the disappointment of tennis fans around the globe, the Wimbledon bosses rejected Borg’s request; and that marked the end of Borg’s career.
When Borg return shortly after the Wimbledon he was excluded from, his rustiness was so severe he never again even made any top player have to work hard to beat him.

At the end of his career, Federer
will probably be considered the
greatest ever. Rod Laver was the most dominant tennis player with Grand Slams in 1962 and 1969.
I would like to see Federer win the
French Open, surpass Pete Sampras’
career record of 14 Slams, and per-
haps even win a Grand Slam.
Nadal has clearly closed the gap
on Federer at Wimbledon. Both
players should be proud of how well
they played (each player won 26
games) and it is clear that this is
a special rivalry.

vamos, rafa!
He was just lucky that Nadal did not convert his 4 breakpoints in the last set. Nadal was playing better. Federer was serving better. I think this will be Federer’s last Wimbledon at the rate Nadal is improving.
Rafael Nadal will be the world number one, it is only a matter of time, probably a lot sooner than most people think.
