1 June 2007 – To celebrate the International Children’s Day, Porto Chess Association and the city Municipal Council organized a party at the City Park specially for students aged 6 to 10. There was a giant chess set, chess classes, tournaments and a lot of fun! Ariana Pintor (female senior regional champion and young female national champion) and Jorge Ferreira (U14 regional and national champion that drew bulgarian GM Liuben Spassov during the International Cidade das Burgas tournament, in Ourense – Spain, this week), offered a 1 vs all simul that had great success among the youngers.
