the players dont excite me. even anand has gotten soft and isnt the fierce player he once was. ill be honest i dont really care. i know there will be alot of draws and boring games. with openings thirty moves deep already planned ahead of time. someone will grab a one point lead and try and win just enough to take the title. id rather watch some of these youngsters going at it. the ones rising through the ranks. they at least try some moves. some work some dont but the fearlesness is there.
Gelfand!
The time has come for Israel to have a World Champion!
YEVLEV.
1. Anand
2. Kramnik
3. Aronian
4. Leko
Topalov’s +6 was an outlier result: probably +4 will win. So the winner needs to win four to six games.
I think Aronian’s chances are overrated (all those losses to Carlsen do not impress) and Leko’s are underrated.
favorites: Anand, Kramnik
contenders: Leko, Aronian, Moro
dark horses: Gelfand, Svidler
no chance: Grischuk
My favorite player: Moro (Linares)
Most likely to take last place: Moro (Morelia)
Where is Topalov? Just kibitzing?
I would change the line up. Add in Ivanchuk and remove Kramnik. Kramnik then plays the winner in a match for the title.
