Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
I’m not sure why we continue to put Yasser on the list. The guy doens’t play anymore and just sits on his rating.
Was just going to ask the same – is Seirawan still playing?! Cannot recall anything over the course of the past few years.
Yasser played in a European chess leagues since he lives in Holland now. That is why he is back on the list.
Best wishes,
Susan Polgar
If you would check his FIDE card, you would see that he is still playing a game or two per rating period.
Well, still a pity. I like the guy and would like to see him play more often. And with so few games only he should be capable of keeping his rating up for a while although it does in that case not reveal much of his reak strength.
All American names 😀
🙂 Who of these is actually born in USA? Nakamura?
Nakamura was born in Japan. I’m pretty sure of it.
Yes, it turns out they are all “imports”.
Nakamura and Seirawan are the only two who lived in USA in their childhood, all other came to the USA as grown ups (or in case of Kamsky as a teenager (15)).
According to wikipedia Ehlvest is not an American citizen.
Which is why the work Susan Polgar and Texas tech are doing to promote chess among young kids in the US is important. Ten years from now we will see the fruit of this effort.
