well played by Kamsky! and as I’ve always said, the only thing Moro needs to do in order to see his inflated rating slide is play in a couple of tournaments 🙂
Yeah, good win.
As of Morozevich, he may play more in a top tournaments, so more people is atracted to actually watch the games.
Hmmmm, I got totally confused by Morozevich’s move 27….Rxd4. Can anyone provide some analysis feedback behind this move? I’m definitely not a GM like he is…..but just wondering why he didn’t took with the pawn instead.
To Anon @ 10:54 AM:
If 27…cxd4? then 28.e5! and white wins even faster than in the game. For example: 28…Qxe5 29.Bxh6 Qf6 (only retreat for black’s queen to avoid mate) and 30.Bg5 seals matters.

I love this! If Gata keeps playing this well watch out Topalov who may become victim to upset of the year in match with Kamsky. I am rooting for Gata who I got to watch play close up in 1993 while doing wall chart games at US Championship. My photo even appeared behind Gata in NIC! Much as I love Topalov’s chess style and games I want Gata to win the match and beat Anand in World Championship.
I agree with the previous post that it would be nice to have an equal match rather than a one-sided affair. But if one looks back at history, it is only logical for the N1 player in the world to also be world champion. Especially now that the knock-out format, which gave us “champions” like Khalifman and Kasimdjanov, is gone. And the N1 player in the world is Topalov. Gata is the N16 player in the world – show me a time in history when a player outside of top 3 ot top 5 max was ever champion!
