The 10th Asian Schools Chess Championship 2014 are set to take place from 23-30th August in Taichung, Taiwan.
The event is organized by the Chinese Taipei Chess Association and co-sponsored by the Taiwan Intelligent Ironman Creativity Contest Association and Washington High School.
Every Asian National Chess Federation can register one official player in each category (under 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15 & 17 years old, open and girls), totaling a maximum of fourteen (14) invited players.
All additional players are welcome to participate in the championship. Additional players are responsible for all their own costs.
The Championship will be played according to the Swiss System of 7 or 9 rounds or Round-Robin System depending upon the number of participants in each category. Seven-round Swiss will be played with 16 or fewer players and Nine-round Swiss will be played with 17 or more players. Round-Robin System may be applied depending upon the final number of registered participants in each group.
Rate of play will be 90 minutes for the whole game plus 30 seconds increment for every move played for Standard Championship.
The Championship is FIDE rated and will be conducted as per FIDE Laws of Chess.
All of participants arriving by international flights should take plane to Taoyuan International airport, Taiwan. The host federation will arrange the transportation from airport to the hotel for arrival and departure during the schedule dates.
