Hei, I can’t name the player, but I will post still if it suits the blog host. Someone has to post absolute amateur games.
I meant to post a whole different game, but somehow it was not saved. I cannot remember well enough how it went. So, for anyone reading, this would be an exorcise on how better to end the game. I don’t think the opponent was so very lower rated, but I had been playing on yahoo exceedingly badly.
–(let us say for scientific purposes, and I did, if you quit smoking, however much you prepare, you cannot last the nervous energy of whatever concentration you have for even a game of 10 minutes(nervous tension is the key there); I shed 200 rating points on yahoo (and that is nevermind, I wil get them back and more with my opening studies which in turn wil yield more, anyway))
But I wanted a game of Vienna, my playing white. So the question, if I am allowed, despite the point where I awakened (I started sacrificing things), how much sooner could I have finished this opponent? Nevermind, I thought I strenghtened my position, but by my knowledge, the opponent played a ridiculous variation.
Well 2… c6 is unusual in itself, but is not something an amateur could refute. I decided to try the Bc4 since I had more time. Queen there, well, I played mine since I thought I would gain there, both queens would move and f4 would come after Ne2. …f6 is completely ridiculous. I did not understand his moves thereafter. But here is the game, I would ask the quickest win, if I am allowed.
With the signature uncombed hair, long-sleeves navy blue polo and that wristwatch, I can deduce that the GM in the picture is the young phenom, Wesley So.
He wore that polo for 4 or 5 days at Tata Steel 2011 changing only after 4 straight win against highly regarded and 2700+ caliber GMs.
I just wonder, considering the cold weather there, if he took a bath during that time.
in this picture he looks like he’s about to quit. Oh yeah, he did quit, what a shame. Filipinos are quitters. trivia, name 2 consecutive quitters in Aeroflot open? answer: Darwin and So, both of these made chess history and both are Filipinos.
Ray Robson.
It’s tricky when you can’t see his face. Most chess players take this stance when playing.
Wesley So
Wesley So
GM Wesley So.
I would guess it’s Wesley So.
It’s “zitto” the human zit trying to pop himself.

I think it’s Wesley So.
i’d assume its Wesley So, given the clothing style, and bodily appearance.
Seems like Wesley So at Tata Steel.
